W & Y : THE SEMI VOWELS

When W & Y are used at the Beginning of  words, they are consider as Consonants . But when W& Y are used in the Middle or at the End of words , they are consider as Vowels .That's why W & Y are called SEMI VOWELS .[ Semi = Half ]

There is no word without vowel. But you can find so many words without vowels- A E I O U . For Example --BY, MY, CRY, DRY, FLY,  FRY, PLY, SHY, SKY, SPY, TRY, THY, WHY, MYTH, GYPSY, LYMPH, RHYTHM, RHYTHMS, TWYNDYLLYNGS, etc.
  The above words must have a vowel. Here the Semi Vowel - 'Y' is used as Vowel. So it again proves that there is no word without vowel.

➽➽Twyndyllyngs --is the longest word in English that doesn't contain one of the five Vowels [A E I O U ] It appears in the Oxford English Dictionary . It is a plural noun . the meaning of the word is "A twinling ; twin ".
